The ACTS: a Foldable
In class we will be discussing all of the acts that the colonists endured under British rule. This is a good outline for the foldable. American Revolution Political Cartoons In class students will be examining political cartoons and answering questions on them. This is the packet with the cartoons in it, as well as the questions they need to answer. Declaration of Independence In class, we will be discussing the reasons why the Declaration of Independence was passed as well as going through the document. Timeline Assignment Students will have three days in class to finish this assignment. First Continental Congress Students went through a powerpoint about the first Continental Congress/Lexington and Concord/and the second Continental Congress. Boston Massacre Use the picture to the left hand side of this description to answer the questions about Paul Revere's engraving of the Boston Massacre. Pre-Revolution Review Students were given this assignment if they received less than 80% on the pre-revolutionary test. They have until Friday December 6, 2013. |
In Class we will be playing this role playing game. Students are taken into the city of Boston right before the Revolution begins. They will learn about the differences between Patriots and Loyalists as well as what happened during the Boston Massacre. Students will only have two days to complete the game, or they will need to finish it at home.

Chains by Laurie Halse Anderson
We will be reading the book "Chains" by Laurie Halse Anderson in class. Twice a week students will read two-three chapters and take notes to turn in at the end of class. There will be a culminating book review as the ending project.
